Hagane Banner 1440 400

Hagane · Japan Rock Music

Formed 23 June 2018. Harmonic metal band ‘HAGANE’. From their fresh blue exterior, the band has an unimaginably hard sound. A girl band with high-tone vocals and powerful instrumentalists playing in harmony. After releasing songs and playing numerous live shows, they released their first mini-album ‘EpisodeØ’ in June 2020.

The harmonic metal band HAGANE releases their first full album, Code; 9021, on August 18. The five-member girl band shifts up the pitch with power metal. Since forming in 2018, HAGANE has a few singles and a mini album demonstrating their hard rock and power metal abilities. Yet, now they reach the next level of musicianship on full display in the music videos from the album, SuperVillan. In August 2022, they released their first full album ‘Code ;9021’. After the release of the album, all shows of the ‘[Code ; 9021] TOUR 2022’, including the final show at Spotify O-WEST, were sold out. In the midst of their growing activities, three members left the band at the ‘HAGANE ONE MAN LIVE “ZERO”’ held on 26 May 2023. In 2024, the band decided to restart with new members, including vocalist Nagiki and drummer Junna.

HAGANE will digitally release a new EP on May 29th. The as-yet-untitled EP will mark the recording debuts of HAGANE’s new vocalist Nagi and drummer JUNNA. The new line-up will make its live debut at the one-man live HAGANE reboot live -Life goes on!- at Shibuya REX on June 27th. During HAGANE’s downtime, guitarist Sakura joined the bands 1MYB, the official band of the “Kantai Collection” franchise, and more recentyl EGOEGG, portraying guitarist Hare Kanda in the newest addition to the “D4DJ” franchise’s roster of acts.

HAGANE, the all female symphonic metal unit, have restarted their activities with latest single ‘Tenka-goken’ (‘The Five Swords of Japan’, or literally ‘Five Greatest Swords under Heaven’). The video premiered on July 6th. ‘Tenka-goken’ is the band’s first single since 2021, and the first with their new lineup. The track is taken from their new EP, released physically on June 27th, titled ‘Life Goes On!’. Written by guitarist Sakura, ‘Tenka-goken’ is a classic symphonic metal song. New vocalist Nagi has a powerful and clean voice that is a refreshing change from the often higher pitched symphonic metal vocalists. Additionally, Sakura really shines with a long and ear-worm worthy guitar solo. The music video for ‘Tenka-goken’ sees HAGANE fittingly perform in a temple, mirroring the heavenly title of the song.
